Childbirth ClassesConsider taking advantage of the childbirth classes offered by our practice. Some form of childbirth education can be beneficial, as fear of the unknown can be a major contributor to one’s anxiety level. The advantage of our classes is that we give you information specific to the practices of Drs. Egner, Venard, and Caminiti. We average between eight and sixteen couples per session; because of this you can get more one-on-one attention. It is best if your support person can attend the classes with you, however, this is not a requirement. The classes are taught by our office nurse, Lori Harbert. Lori is an R.N., certified in Inpatient Obstetrics. She worked in Labor and Delivery for fifteen years, twelve of those at Good Samaritan Hospital. She has been teaching these classes, called “Prepared Childbirth” since 1988. The following topics are covered in the class:1. Anatomy and Physiology You also well be shown a film depicting a natural birth, an epidural being given and that delivery, and a cesarean section. Classes are held at Mercy Franciscan Western Hills Hospital. This is a one day class held on Saturdays from 8am to 4:30pm. The class fee is $60.00. We encourage you to take the class closest to your 34th week of pregnancy. To register fill out the slip given at your first visit and return to the receptionist. Class dates are listed below.12-2-06 |
